ERAE (Encyclopedia of the Reception of Ancient Egypt) is a DFG-funded project directed by Julia Budka and hosted at LMU Munich; editors of ERAE are Florian Ebeling, Julia Budka and Miguel John Versluys.
ERAE will, over the next 6 years and in cooperation with Heidelberg University Library, publish, open access and online, 500 lemmata on the reception of ancient Egypt that together provide the First overview of the phenomenon.
The lemmata will be linked to each other and will consist of micro-analyses on individual reception testimonies (Corpus Hermeticum, for instance, or Appartamento Borgia) as well as on specific topics within a narrowly defined framework (e.g. Hieroglyphs in baroque literature). All (peer reviewed) contributions will be in a standardized format, including texts, images and, where appropriate, audio and video Files; everything hosted by Heidelberg University Library.
